Experts lowered the forecast for wheat production in the EU in 2024/25

Refinitiv Commodities Research analysts lowered the forecast for soft wheat production in the EU in 2024/25 MR to 125.6 million tons, which is more than 2 million tons less than last season’s result.

The downward revisions are due to lower-than-expected wheat acreage in France due to delays in sowing in the country due to excessive rainfall.

At the same time, almost all of Europe in the short term is predicted to warm with temperatures above normal and a sufficient amount of precipitation (snow), which is expected to be favorable for the development of winter crops.
