Together with the UN World Food Program, Ukraine is developing new routes for the “Grain from Ukraine” program to help overcome hunger in Gaza, Malawi, the Democratic Republic of Congo and other countries.
This was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi, addressing the participants of the third Summit for Democracy.
” When Russia blocked our ports and began to destroy our agricultural infrastructure, our determination and global cooperation paid off. We restored the stability of the global food market by lifting the Russian blockade of some of our ports and resuming the supply of agricultural products. Tens of millions of tons of Ukrainian food have already been sent to Africa, Asia, and Europe. Our humanitarian food program “Grain from Ukraine” also works, thanks to which tens of thousands of tons of grain and wheat have already been delivered to Yemen, Somalia, Nigeria, Sudan, and Ethiopia. Thank you to the donor countries that helped,” said Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
According to him, a new shipment from Ukraine will arrive in Sudan in a few days.
” We have proven that we can restore food security, and I invite everyone to join the implementation of this and all other points of our Peace Formula ,” urged the President of Ukraine .
