State grain buyer Bangladesh has said it no longer plans to hold tenders for the purchase of wheat in the current fiscal year, which ends in June 2024, Reuters reports.
According to market operators, in the last two international tenders, Bangladesh purchased a total of 100,000 tons of food wheat. In particular, at the December 12 tender, 50,000 tons of presumably Russian wheat were purchased from the operator Cereal Crop Trading at a price of $317.56 per ton CIF and another 50,000 tons at the December 19 tender from the operator Agrocorp International at a price of $315.29 per ton. ton CIF. The grain contracted in the last tender is expected to be supplied from the Russian Federation, Argentina, Uruguay, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Romania, Lithuania or Germany.
In both tenders, the delivery of grain should take place 40 days after the signing of the contract to the ports of Chattogram and Mongla.
